How to install Office 365 on Windows PC?

In this guide, I will show you how to download and install Office 365 on your Windows 10 PC. There are two versions of Office a 32-bit and 64-bit. If you wish to read more about the differences between the 2 version, I will put a link in the description for you.

For normal day to day use, 32-bit would be fine but if you are planning to process a large number of calculations in Excel, animations in PowerPoint or using multiple variables in Access the 64-bit version is the best option.

Before we start, we need to purchase a subscription for Office 365 you can go to Microsoft website and purchase either for home or business purpose. If you already have a licence, then open Microsoft Edge or any other browser and navigate to Office.com.

Next, click on the Sign-in button and enter your email and password, the one you used to purchase Office 365 licence.

Enter your email address you used to purchased Microsoft 365 subscription and click Next.

Enter your password on next windows.

Click Yes,

Click on “Install Office” on the right-hand side and this will give you 2 options.

  1. Premium Office apps
  2. Other install options

Premium Office apps will download and install the 32-bit version of the office if you wish to install 32-bit just click on Premium Office apps and open the downloaded file. But to install 64-bit Office click on Other install options and then click on View app & devices.

Select your language and make sure 64-bit is selected then click on Install Office.

Next, open the downloaded file and click yes this will start installing Office 365 64-bit on your computer. This process may take up to 15 minutes depending on your internet speed. Once the Office is installed click Close.

The last step is to activate the office so open any Office application such as Word.

Click on your name at the right top corner and then click “Sign in”

If you have Multi-Factor Authentication enabled enter the code sent to your mobile or from the authenticator app and click OK.

Now you have Microsoft Office 365 installed on your Windows 10 PC.
